Why choose a small, private practice?

Because you and your therapist are the only people in the clinic! This is especially important if you are immune-compromised, or have concerns about being in a space with other patients.

Hands-On Wellness OT remains open as an essential medical service offering private, in-person appointments or telehealth (online) visits. To help "stop the spread" the following measures have been put in place:

  • Your therapist has been trained in the proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and is current with the most recent infection control measures.

  • Patients who need in-person visits will wait in their vehicles and will receive a text when the treatment room has been made ready and has been disinfected appropriately between patients - 1/2 hour slots are blocked so that we have enough time to do this.

  • You will receive in-person care from your therapist wearing an N95 mask and gloves with a splash screen in place for essential hands-on treatment such as the application of electrical modalities or to apply or make modifications to a cast/splint.

  • All other visits will transition to telehealth (online) visits - while it is a new process for many, Hands-On Wellness OT aims to make the process as easy as possible, that's why you will be walked through the process:

  1. ​Start by checking out:  ​How do I find out my Occupational Therapy benefits? for information about how your insurance company reimburses telehealth services. While Hands-On Wellness OT does not currently participate in any insurance programs (including Medicare or Medicaid) we do offer reduced fees for telehealth visits ($30 per half hour consults). 

  2. Simply contact me to book a time and I will send you an email invitation to an online meeting link. The link is through a HIPAA-compliant secure platform with video and audio capabilities.

  3. Prior to your visit, please check out our Before Your Visit page to fill out and email back relevant documentation and to prepare for and gather everything you may need for your appointment. 

  4. At the time of your appointment, open your email - you will be directed to click a button and you will be directed to a virtual waiting room; wait there until your therapist's screen appears.

  5. Payment will be taken after your appointment through credit card details or via PayPal and you will be emailed your receipt.

  6. In the event of technical difficulties, we will guide you through the process over your mobile phone.
